Before You Begin:
1) Choose the operation that you want to perform: insert, update, upsert, or delete.
2) If you’re performing an update or upsert operation, select the checkbox next to “Update existing records?” on the mapping page. This will ensure that any existing records in your org are updated with the new data.
3) Choose the object that you want to operate on: Lead, Contact, Account, Opportunity, Custom Object, etc.
4) Map the Salesforce fields to the corresponding fields in your data file. This step is required so that Data Loader knows which data from your file goes into which Salesforce fields.
5) Choose your data file. This is the file that contains the data you want to load into Salesforce.
