Russian troops capture two British fighters in Ukraine Moscow claims that Shaun Pinar and Aiden Aslin, two British fighters who went to Ukraine to fight for the army.
Russia’s state television has broadcast images of two British fighters captured in the town of Mariupol. It has been alleged that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was secretly providing military assistance to Ukraine without declaring war on Russia.
Although Aslin said he had surrendered to the Russian army, he had joined the Ukrainian army’s Marines in 2016. The fighter, originally from Nottinghamshire in Britain, claimed that he had recently applied to the government of Volodymyr Zelensky for Ukrainian citizenship.

Pinar, another prisoner of war, said he had been fighting for the Ukrainian Marines in Mariupol for the past five weeks. Vladimir Putin’s government has demanded the release of pro-Russian Ukrainian industrialist Viktor Medvedchuk in exchange for the release of two British fighters. Victor was recently detained by the Ukrainian government on charges of working for Russia.
