A man convicted of killing a police officer in Texas in 1990 has been executed on Thursday evening.
Carl Wayne Bunshan, 7, was given a lethal injection in a death row cell in Houston, Texas. News Anadolu.
He died at 6:39 pm local time on Thursday. In 1990, he killed James Irby, a 36-year-old police officer.
James Irby has been a well-known member of the Houston Police Department for 18 years.
However, in a statement issued before his death, Carl Wayne Bunson said: “I would like to convey my condolences to the family of James Irby. If I meet him in the hereafter, then I will pull him to my chest.
It is worth mentioning that in 1990, while driving on Ring Side, he stopped the car of Bunshan and shot the police officer Irbi twice in the head.
He was sentenced to death in 1991. Bunshan had repeatedly appealed for the abolition of the death penalty in the last three decades.
The death sentence was carried out on Thursday after the court rejected his latest appeal on April 15.
