Several people are feared to have been trapped inside an abandoned coal mine in Jharkhand, India. The abandoned coal mine in Dhanbad district collapsed on Thursday (April 21st) during illegal mining. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
According to The Economic Times, citing PTI, a collapse occurred at an abandoned coal mine in Chanch Victoria Colliery area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) on Thursday.
Amit Kumar, director of the Jharkhand government’s mining department, said some villagers were feared to be trapped inside. Rescue operations are underway there. Details about this will be known later.
A BCCL spokesman said they had heard of the mine collapse. But so far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange.
Earlier, at least five people were killed when an abandoned ECL mine collapsed during an illegal excavation at Gopinathpur in Dhanbad last February. The local government had formed a special team to investigate the incident.
