Summer Is Just Around the Corner

It changes everything, from our everyday food choices to our routine activities. One thing on which the summer season has a great impact is the skincare routine.

Seasonal changes can wreak havoc on our healthy skin causing damage to it. People who spend more time outdoors are more prone to skin damage and skin changes than others. Not only does your skin have to survive the high-intensity sunlight but other than this its requirements changes.

How much It requires more protection and extra care in summers. This even varies from person to person. In my case, I have spent my college years without taking care of my skin which resulted in an extreme level of hyperpigmentation on my skin. Then I went to a renowned dermatologist in Lahore who then treated me for the problems.

How to Take Care of Your Skin in Summers?

While spending a lot of money on these treatments, I realized that I would have saved myself from all this pain and financial burden only if I took the right care of my skin. In case you are wondering what can be some of the best skin care tips for summers, then don’t worry. I have got your back and here are the tips that might help you.

1- Regularly Wash your Face

The production of face oil can vary from person to person.

Some people’s skin is oilier than others and these excessive oils on your skin not only clog your skin pores but can also result in an acne breakout. So, for this, you need to keep your skin clean, and to clean your skin, what’s better than using a face wash.

Choose a face wash and wash your face with it. It is going to help you get rid of the dirt and dust particles on your skin that is required to keep your skin healthy. Clean skin not only feels good but you are going to have fewer skin problems.

2- Wear Sunscreen

Summer is all about sunlight exposure. You need to protect your skin against this sun damage. Sun rays can be quite harmful to your skin as these can result in changing your skin coloration as well as can cause problems like hyperpigmentation. So, wearing sunscreen in summer is a must.

Depending upon your skin type, you can choose any sunscreen. It is not only important to wear sunscreen under the light. A recommended practice is to wear it every single day and reapply sunscreen after every 2 hours to prevent damage to your skin.

3- Never Skip Exfoliation

Exfoliation is a general skincare rule no matter what season it is. Exfoliation is meant to remove the dead skin cells and debris from your skin that can clog your skin pores. After exfoliation, your skin looks glowing. This is even more important to exfoliate your skin in summer. So, never skip the exfoliation no matter what. Choose the type of exfoliant that matches your skin type. You can even consult your dermatologist regarding the choice of exfoliant.

4- Apply Less Makeup

You may be a makeup lover or maybe a routine user. But do you know too much makeup is bad for your skin? Especially in summer, make sure to keep it minimal. Avoid heavy sticky makeup on your skin. Eye makeup should be especially avoided in this case. You can even opt for makeup products that are both summer-friendly and skin-friendly.

5- Drink a lot of water

Just like all other skincare tips, make sure to drink a good amount of water daily. Your skin needs a good amount of water to keep its hydration level fulfilled. Drink as much water as you can. In a day, 2 litres of water are a must. Not only this, you may need to add more and more water-rich fruits and vegetables to your diet as well. So, make sure to consume enough water in your diet.

6- Don’t Skip the Moisturizer

Many people may feel like they don’t need to regularly use a moisturizer in summer. Though it is a common observation that dryness levels are much less in summers as compared to winter, this doesn’t give you the reason to skip moisturizer. Apply a moisturizer daily to minimize the damage to your skin. The choice of moisturizer can vary in summers but a moisturizer is a must face moisturiser if you want to take good care of your skin in summer.

7- Don’t Forget Your Feet and Lips

Many people tend to forget their lips and feet skin considering that skincare is only about your facial skin. However, that’s not the case. Use a foot scrub to get rid of the dull skin on your feet. Further, don’t forget to apply sunscreen on your lips.
