Dhaka Customs House has arrested a female citizen of the United States with about 8 kg of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The passenger was detained from the boarding bridge No. 6 of the airport. This gold was hidden in this woman’s underwear.
It is learned that the name of the arrested woman is Shahnaz Chowdhury. He is a 54-year-old U.S. citizen.

He said the operation was carried out on the basis of secret information that a huge amount of gold could be smuggled through the airport through a passenger of Emirates Airlines. The Preventive Team monitors them at Shahjalal Airport.

Sanwarul Kabir further said that the passenger Shahnaz Chowdhury came to Bangladesh from America via Dubai transit. 59 gold bars were recovered from him. It weighs 6 kg 800 g. The market value of the seized gold is around Rs 5 crore. Two cases will be filed against him under criminal and customs law.
